| Abstract/Notes | Lycopene and bixin-norbixin extracts can be used as an active ingredient for sunscreen. However, the use of lycopene and bixin-norbixin as active sunscreen ingredient in Indonesia has not been developed yet. This study was carried out with a purpose to make sunscreen body lotion prototypes using lycopene and bixin-norbixin as an active ingredient that can be used as UV-A, UV- 8 and UV-C protection. The safety of sunscreen body lotion prototypes are based on SNI 16-4399-1996. The result showed that both sunscreen body lotion.prototypes have passed quality tests, which includes appearance, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, sun protection factor (SPF) and microbial contamination. Prior to determining the stability, the prototype were exposed to various temperatures 4°C, 25°C and 65°C, as well as to UV light. The result showed that temperature influences changing on pH, viscosity, color, aroma and appearance of the prototype, while the stability test against UV-A, UV-8 and UV-C showed that lycopene and bixin-norbixin has good properties as sun protector |
